HEARTWARMING EFFORT

Thank you Inay and Tatay, bros and sis, together with  your hubbies and wifees,     for the  donations that you sent last Saturday (Oct 3) to help alleviate the  plight of  the victims of Typhoon Ondoy, giving priorities to our relatives and  churchmates. We were able to accumulate a total of  Php69,260 including contributions from me and  a couple of friendsand relative  whom Inay approached. We distributed relief goods  to 30 families in  San Mateo last Sunday plus cash.   A total of Hp30,000 was spent for this activity.     Tiya Tersing used the opportunity to share the message of God to all the beneficiaries.  In my small talk, I told them that the donations came from Patron's family in Canada pointing out that there is hope in God notwithstanding the setbacks that they all suffered by reason of the flood.     The recipients were so thankful and we hope God is glorified  with all the efforts that we did.    At the instance of Tiya Tersing, 3 other families in that area  likewise benefited because of their pressing needs. We gave out Php500 for each family.  On top of  what has been  donated, Tiyo Peping  received PHp3,300, Wilma, Php3,000, and Abbie, Php1,000.          The Caindoys (Wayne's relatives in Tandang Sora) consisting of 4 families whose  personal belongings were  practically wiped out, received donations also in the form of relief goods, used clothes, and cash.   The total value  given  for each family is PHp1,000.   Wayne's friend in Marikina,  whose house was flooded more than 6 feet deep,  also received  Php1,000 as a token of   support to her plight.   Ute who regularly receives support from Inay,  got an additional PHp800  in consideration of his  deplorable plight I would say partly because of the flood.   His family was stuck right on top of the elf truck at the height of the typhoon.   His family is well, thank God.   Myrna has yet to pick up from Wayne the appropriated donation from Nick and Dulce the amount of PHp5,577 (CAD250).    Tiya Iska's family namely herself, Ate Wennie, Noli, Noel, and Mario, who were all badly affected by the flood in Paranaque has yet to pick up from Wayne a total of PHp1,000 each, except for Tiya Iska who will receive Php2,000.    Vivian (pianist of CBC)  who was likewise victimized by the flood in Novaliches has yet to get from Claire the Php2,000 donation from us.    Fernando's family will likewise receive Php1,000 and another PHp1,000 for his children who have their own respective families.   Bong Lachica has 6 churchmembers who slept in his house at the height of the typhoon. These members were badly affected.   We  allocated Php500 for each member but he has yet to get the donation.    We have also set aside Php1,500 for Ate Mely.   She was not really damaged by the flood but Tiya Tersing requested to give something to her because  she was in dire need.    After  everything is paid for as accounted,  we still have some Php4,117.50 that can be  given away.   Would you want this amount to be donated to Kapuso Foundation, Kapamilya Foundation or DSWD? Or do you know of anybody who would directly benefit from it?

May God return a thousand fold all the goodness that you have all extended to the beneficiaries.  Most importantly, may God continue to give Tatay and Inay long and healthy life:)

FOOD FOR THOUGHT BROUGHT BY TYPHOON ONDOY

Dear brothers and sisters,
Last saturday, we slept soundly at the comfort of our condo unit. We know for a fact that rains never stopped on pouring but we thought it is just one of those days. Little did I know that the tragedy in Metro Manila was unfolding. Late Saturday and Sunday news were truly a shocker but my feeling then was more of a sympathy to the victims. I immediately extended financial assistance to a couple of christian friends who were badly hit by the flood. Wayne extended help to her friend whose entire living got wiped out. As days passed by, I heard stories one after the other telling me how families in Marikina and San Mateo practically lost everything they have except for their lives. It struck me deep as of date as I realize that God is so good to me and my family that it will be truly unfair if I will not give more given the countless blessings we received from Him. I said to myself that now is the best time to help. How I wish you could be part of this opportunity to reach out to the thousands of victims . It will make you feel good to realize that you are part of this work that truly touches desperate and hopeless lives. God will surely reward you.
I intend to go to San Mateo this coming Saturday. I hope to bring some clothes, goodies, and funds for the victims. At the moment, I know that Neyong's wife wilma lost everything that her family has. The same thing is true with Julius wife's sister whose entire house except for the roof was inundated by flood. Jerry's wife and family have yet to be contacted but surely they are also devastated as they live in Tumana, a low lying area. I know many more are deeply in need.
Should you wish to be part of this worthy endeavor, you may talk to Inay about it.
God bless....
Dan
